Do I have to sell my home to get Medicaid Benefits?
A:
Generally, no. The home is an exempt asset for Medicaid qualification purposes. In other words, it is not counted toward the asset limit for Medicaid qualification. However, the home is generally exempt only as long as either spouse (or another qualified person) is living in the home or intends to return home. The home will be subject to Medicaid estate recovery unless appropriate planning has occurred or another exception exists.

We had a wonderful experience with April! She helped us with a trust issue and made us feel very comfortable. Joseph was helpful also with the trust.
Their office and employees are very friendly. I would highly recommend this office. Todd and Belvia

Karen handled my mothers will and power of attorney. She has years of experience and I felt at ease knowing my mother was being honestly and efficiently taken care of. Karen has the patience of a saint and was very kind and thorough explaining everything that needed to be done. She and her staff are excellent at what they do.
